GetSwitch
GetSwitch is an application that is designed to collect IP and MAC address information, as well as switch name and switch port information.
app.conf file is used to
- configure router(s) to get ARP table
- configure switch(es) to get MAC address table
- specify SNMP community string
- specify report type, which can be console output or TXT file (delimiter is semicolon) which can be easily imported into Excel.
Q: When will you use GetSwitch?
A: When you have no idea which switchport devices are plugged, and you have limited time to find switchport.
GetSwitch is utilizing Sharp SNMP Suite (#SNMP), which is one of the best developed .Net based SNMP libraries.
GetSwitch is a console application which makes your port mapping exercise much easier!
